Madame Germene, Ekkaia, Ictus and now Asfixia. I'm sure there are more bands out there to add to this list but I think you get the picture. We're dealing with dark, heavy, melodic hardcore from Spain. The question you might want to ask is; what separates Asfixia from all the bands playing similar kind of hardcore? Well Asfixia has a very cool anarcho-punk feeling that shines through from time to time and the fact that Asfixia is a female fronted band makes them stand out too. Asfixia caught me at a bad time cause right now I'm kind of fed up with this kind of harcore. Shure it's still good but it tend to be to much of the same. One thing that I like about Asfixia is that they have skiped the long, monotonous parts which are significant for the style. This makes it a lot more fun to listen to. Along with the great music Asfixia have some really concerned and strong political lyrics translated in english and german. I'm sure I will listen to this record a lot more since I think it's a fresh breeze in this genre. (rise and subvert zine)
